This bag is huge so be aware if ordering for yourself there is an expiration date. In my case an expiration or best by May 2014, a five month personal recommended shelf life. They are made in Mexico but these days most are made out of country to include some Hersheys, Brachs and Arcor. These are of good quality, uniformly sized, twist wrapped, and easy to open . Corn syrup, sugar,and peppermint oil are the basic three ingredients. At first taste they seem a little sweet but it is not unpleasant and dissipates quick into an even meld of flavor. Texture is excellent and melts perfectly. I actually prefer them to Brachs as they are not quite as sweet, have a much better lingering peppermint after taste, and lasts longer. Price wise being placed at your doorstep it is a great deal. If you want to ride to the store and purchase peppermints you can find much better prices. Myself I like doorstep delivery. No gas, my time spent, checkout lines, traffic, parking lot woes, and possibly out of stock when you get there. Last time I purchased starlights I bought at Rite-aid Pharmacy (RiteAid Brand) while picking up a presciption. They were good but not any better then these, made in USA AND $2.00 for a Twelve Ounce Bag. About 9 bags totaling $18.00 and four ounces short of this 7 pound bag. So going to purchase at the retail store you still need to be diligent in your label reading to include weight. The bargains usually have weights of 10 to 12 ounce and not a full pound.
